This emperor and empress handmade in porcelain form a composition to celebrate one of Japan’s most popular traditions. Hina Matsuri is held every March 3, the day on which young girls receive the gift of Hina Dolls, to wish them good luck and for a happy life.
This creation is noteworthy for the delicate floral decoration on the kimonos, faithfully reproducing the details and painstaking execution of the original costumes of the imperial court of Japan during the Heian period.
